2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Changes, Upgrades and Release Date
The C-Class has been the entry into the world of Mercedes-Benz for US drivers for quite some time now. Therefore, it’s no surprise that it is an important vehicle, and with each new model year, it’s just as important that Mercedes-Benz gets things right. Well, with the 2019 model year, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class sees a number of changes and upgrades that we will explore now ahead of its release date. Simply put, Mercedes-Benz definitely got this one right.
The first question many will have is simply… when can we get behind the wheel? Thankfully, the wait shouldn’t be too long, as the 2019 C-Class is expected to go on-sale in the United States by late 2018. Apart from that, we do not have any specific month at this time.
Let’s begin by taking a look under the hood. The C-Class has never been short on power, but now it seems that Mercedes-Benz has made some upgrades to ensure that there will always be plenty of power in the C-Class even as advancements in engines and other technologies are made.
The 2019 model will have a new 2.0-liter turbo engine that is capable of pumping out up to 255 horsepower, an increase of 14 from its predecessor. The engine will also deliver up to 273 lb-ft of torque. This will be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Tech Upgrades for the 2019 C-Class
The 7-inch display screen in the center of the C-Class is nothing new, but the available 10.25-inch COMAND® display screen is. Generally speaking, the C-Class pulls from the display concept of the S-Class sedan.
It is available with a fully digital instrument cluster display that can be configured in three unique designs: Classic, Sport and Progressive. The information is shown on a 12.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels, making everything crystal clear even while driving. Also new is the multifunction leather steering wheel that is equipped with Touch Control Buttons that allow you to interact with the vehicle and display screen using swiping motions similar to your smartphone.
Refreshed Design for the C-Class In 2019
Lastly, but certainly not least, is the fresh new design you’ll find on the C-Class. To begin with, the center console is now available in wood trim such as Natural Grain Walnut and Natural Grain Grey Oak. Also available and brand new is the Magma Grey/Black upholstery. For the AMG-Line Interior there is a new available Saddle Brown and Silk Beige/Black color. Some of the finer details include a new turbine-looking design for the push button start and newly designed headlamps and taillamps, which now come standard as LED.
As you can see, the changes and upgrades for the 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class leave a lot to anticipate ahead of the model’s late 2018 release date.
