Powertrain & Performance

Which trim level you opt for will decide with which powertrain your E-Class comes equipped. The E 350 Sedan or E 350 4MATIC® Sedan come equipped with a 2.0L inline-4 turbocharged engine that’s capable of generating 255 horsepower alongside 273 pound-feet of torque. The Former gets from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds while the latter, enhanced by its 4MATIC® drive system, gets there in 5.6 s. The E 450 4MATIC® Sedan, on the other hand, is powered by a 3.0L biturbo V6 engine that can generate 362 hp, 369 lb-ft. of torque and get from 0-60 in 5 seconds flat.

Safety Innovations

Let’s take just a moment to talk about some of the innovative new safety features found in the E-Class. With so many new driver-assistive technologies coming out year after year, it’s nice to see some incredible new safety innovations outside of that realm as well. The PRE-SAFE® system features a couple of incredible technologies that work to keep you safe in the event of a collision.

If the PRE-SAFE® Sound feature senses a forthcoming collision, it emits what is called pink noise through the speakers of the vehicle’s audio system in order to protect your ears from the loud noises often involved with an automotive accident. Additionally, PRE-SAFE® Impulse Side is an available option offered for the first time in the industry. If it detects a side impact, it has the ability to rapidly inflate the front-seat bolster, thus moving you away from the impact and reducing whatever force it might’ve caused.
