2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Bluffton, SC | Also Serving Beaufort & the Lowcountry

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE is one of the hottest new SUVs on the market today, and it really doesn’t take long to figure out why. With the 2020 GLE available for sale here in Bluffton SC, at Hilton Head Honda, allow us to take a dive into what upgrades and updates the new Mercedes-Benz GLE has to offer for the communities we serve throughout the Lowcountry.

Before even stepping foot in the vehicle, you’ll notice the new exterior design. We won’t spend much time talking about that, as the photos speak for themselves, but Mercedes-Benz perhaps puts it best when the brand says the design of the “GLE follows the design strategy of sensual purity, and dispenses with individual edges in favor of generously modelled surfaces.”

The 2020 GLE Features the New MBUX Infotainment System

Inside the new GLE, drivers will enjoy the new MBUX infotainment system. The acronym is short for Mercedes-Benz User Experience. In front of the driver are two 12.3-inch screens, placed side-by-side, to create the appearance of one large display. While one screen is focused on delivering instrument cluster information, the other is focused on multimedia.

Four different styles are available with MBUX, allowing the driver to customize the system to their personal preference or mood. These four modes consist of Classic, Sport (high-tech turbine look with black/yellow contrasting colors), Progressive (“digitalism in reduced form”), and Understated (only the essential information is presented for a minimalist appearance).

MBUX also uses artificial intelligence to learn and predict what a driver may do next. For example, if you call your spouse on the way home from work each day, MBUX may suggest that contact when you enter your vehicle for the commute home. The system also reads hand gestures to determine driver intention, such as lifting a hand in front of the rearview mirror to turn off the map light.

Last but not least, an optional Head-Up Display can project important vehicle info onto the windshield in front of the driver. This results in less eye fatigue for the driver and greatly reduces eye adjustment time when looking at the vehicle’s speed, for example, and then back to the road.

2020 GLE Engine and Performance

More engine options will be available, however, including a 4-cylinder turbo that offers up 273 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, the latest generation of driver assistance systems comes to the new GLE, combining systems like Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC® and Route-Based Speed Adaptation® in order to detect traffic congestion up ahead before the driver can even see it.

For a smoother ride, the 2020 GLE also features E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL®. Mercedes-Benz says it is “the world’s most intelligent SUV suspension.” This is no surprise as the system is able to do things like lean into curves, allowing the driver and passengers to do the same, without experiencing the discomfort that often comes with high speed curves.

We’ve discussed a lot of exciting features that you can expect from the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE, but truth be told, we’ve barely even scratched the surface. To learn more, come see us at Hilton Head Honda. If you’re from Beaufort or anywhere else in the Lowcountry, feel free to get the process started on our website before stopping in. We look forward to meeting you.
