Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR Concept Vehicle Specs, Features & Design

At the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a brand-new concept vehicle called the VISION AVTR. Packed full of incredible technology and inspired by the future, the concept vehicle is truly something phenomenal. Not only was it inspired by the future, but it was inspired by the world of Pandora from the Avatar film series. We thought we’d take a look at some of the specs, features & design cues present in the concept vehicle when it was unveiled.

Design Cues

The name itself is evocative of the film series, AVTR – but that also has a practical meaning behind it, as it stands for Advanced Vehicle Transformation. The designers and engineers of the vehicle came up with this concept as their vision of future automotive trends, and we certainly can’t wait for this future because the concept is incredible. When it comes to design, the vehicle adopts an inside-out style that almost combines the vehicle’s exterior and interior together with its One Bow design.

Future Tech & Specs

This is where things get weird. The concept vehicle was inspired by Avatar and is a vision of the future, so some of the future tech conceptualized within it is out there, but we love the forward-thinking. Taking a cue from the flying beasts in the film, the vehicle is driven via biometric connection rather than a steering wheel. The driver would simply place a hand on the control unit and guide the vehicle through their connection. The driver can also simply lift their hand for a projected menu selection rather than a traditional display audio menu.

There is so much more that makes this incredible Mercedes-Benz concept vehicle such a marvel, and it has certainly got us excited for the upcoming sequel to 2009’s hit film.
