Will the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Be Available In the United States?

When it comes to pretty much any auto manufacturer headquartered overseas, there will be certain models that are available in Europe or in Asia but not here in the United States. For the most part, this is OK, as each market has its own preferences and desires with the vehicles they drive. All that said, sometimes we miss out on a thing or two here in the United States, and that may be the case with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. So, with a new model year around the corner, will the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class be available here in the United States or will it continue to be an overseas-only vehicle?

Well, we have some good news and bad news. Let’s get the worse news out of the way first. Although the A-Class is a beloved vehicle in hatchback form overseas, we won’t be seeing the A-Class hatchback here in the United States. So, if you’re a small hatchback fan, we’re sorry to have to break the bad news… it’s just simply not a vehicle that fits as well into the American market as it does the European market.

The great news, however, is that the A-Class will be coming to the United States. It will just be in sedan form instead of hatchback form, making it a more appealing option for many U.S. drivers who enjoy that sporty styling. In fact, we may even see two A-Class sedans appearing on this side of the pond.

What to Expect From the U.S. Version of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class?

Though the hatchback has been unveiled and talked about quite a bit, we may not actually see the A-Class sedan until its debut in the fall of 2018.

From what we’ve seen of the hatchback, the A-Class may be one of the most premium and technologically advanced experiences you’ve had in a vehicle. In fact, it takes after the sensational S-Class more than anything else with the potential for two 10.25-inch displays, ambient lighting and more. We may also see the new MBUX system, which stands for the Mercedes-Benz User Experience that includes a new digital assistant, Vehicle-to-X communication that allows your vehicle and others to send information to one another, and other infotainment improvements.

Again, much of this is speculation, so we’re going to have to hold off on any promises until Mercedes-Benz makes things official later this year. But, the good news is that it does sound like the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will go on sale here in the United States, so stay tuned to the Mercedes-Benz of Hilton Head blog for more details as they become available.
