The Mercedes-Benz E-Class was introduced back in 1993, but since then it has gone through several generational redesigns and variants before entering its fifth generation back for the 2017 model year. Now, for the new model year, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is all-new once again, as it receives a mid-generation redesign for the entire family of vehicles. That family includes the 4-door sedan, the 5-door wagon, the 2-door coupe and the 2-door cabriolet, plus a host of high-performance AMG® models to boot, all of which are available here in Bluffton SC.
All four body types have been overhauled for the 2021 model year, and so far, the Mercedes-AMG® E 63 S Sedan and Wagon and Mercedes-AMG® E 53 Sedan, Coupe and Cabriolet have been unveiled with extensive updates as well. The lineup features design enhancements and a host of new technologies and features that make the 2021 E-Class models the most advanced yet.
For the sedan and wagon models, the headlamps, taillamps, front bumper and radiator grille have all ben redesigned. On the inside, the steering wheel has been upgraded with new capacitive hands-off detection technology, while a host of next-generation driving assistance features have been added, including Stop-and-Go Assist, Steering Assist, Brake Assist and more. Plus, the models will come standard with a widescreen cockpit featuring a pair of 12.3” display screens.
On the other hand, the coupe and cabriolet have undergone comprehensive updates as well. The design has been enhanced in a similar way, with redesigned front and rear fascias on the exterior. It also features a lot of the same feature updates, like that steering wheel and the new Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system. In addition, all four body styles will have an electrified engine option powered by an M 256 3.0L inline 6-cylinder turbocharged engine that features EQ Boost technology and a 48V on-board electrical system.
