One of the biggest and most exciting features of the upcoming, next-generation MBUX – or Mercedes-Benz User Experience – which will be front and center in the all-new EQS is its use of Artificial Intelligence – or AI. We thought we’d give you a few examples of how this new AI will make personalized suggestions for you as you drive, learning the more time you spend in your vehicle and enhancing your experience more and more.

“The MBUX Hyperscreen is both the brain and nervous system of the car. The MBUX Hyperscreen continually gets to know the customer better and delivers a tailored, personalized infotainment and operating offerings without the occupant needing to click or scroll anywhere.”
– Sajjad Khan, Member of the Board of Management & Chief Technology Officer, Mercedes-Benz AG

Over the last several years, infotainment systems have grown more and more accommodating and connected. There are tons of technologies, applications and more that you can experience through the infotainment system in your vehicle but utilizing them can sometimes be difficult or time-consuming. Introducing AI to vehicles will eliminate this for many of the functions in your vehicle. The AI system will learn your habits the more time you spend together, eventually displaying your desired functions before you ask for them. Here are a few examples that Mercedes-Benz made when introducing the technology:

If you make a phone call to the same person every Tuesday evening after work, then the system will eventually prompt you to call that person during that time slot.
If you are always utilizing the hot-stone massage function while driving your vehicle, the system will eventually suggest you turn it on when you enter the vehicle.
If you often turn on the heated steering wheel while you have your heated seats on, the system will eventually suggest you turn on the heated steering wheel as soon as you turn on the heated seats.
If you always use the “Raise Vehicle” function when arriving at your place of work, the system will eventually remember the GPS position where you usually trigger this function and suggest raising the vehicle as soon as you near this position.
The future is bright, and we cannot wait to see what these new artificial intelligence options make possible!
